MIT Studentin als Pratikantin bei UNIAKTIV / MIT student joins UNIAKTIV Team
Nahathai Srivali wird am 21.1 beim Engagiertentreffen über Ihr Studium und Ihre Arbeit beim PSC berichten
Um den Bereich der internationalen Projekte auszubauen und lokale Projekte für mögliche Kooperationen zwischen dem Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) und der Universität Duisburg-Essen (UDE) zu finden, unterstützt Nahathai Srivali (20), Studentin am MIT, das UNIAKTIV Team im Januar 2009. Srivali studiert Chemieingenieurwesen und Management und hat im Public Service Center (PSC) des MIT gearbeitet, wo sie mit anderen Studierenden Ideen für Service Learning-Seminare gesammelt, Vorteile des Einsatzes von Service Learning mit Lehrenden diskutiert und passende gemeinnützige Einrichtungen für Kooperation recherchiert hat. Ziel ihres Aufenthaltes bei UNIAKTIV ist, neben dem kulturellen Austausch über Service Learning, vor allem die verstärkte Suche nach Service Learning Projekten in Duisburg, Essen und im internationalen Ausland, die UNIAKTIV gemeinsam mit dem PSC des MIT 2009 durchführen will.
MIT-student Nahathai Srivali (20) will be joining the UNIAKTIV team during the month of January to help expand the scope of international projects and find local projects for potential partnership between MIT and University of Duisburg-Essen. Srivali majors in Chemical-Biological Engineering, has a minor in management, and worked at MIT Public Service Center, where she helped find more potential service learning classes at MIT by brainstorming with other students, discussing the benefits of service learning with professors, and finding community partners. During her stay at UNIAKTIV, she will experience the cultural exchange, find potential projects for interested MIT students, explore non-profit organizations in Duisburg-Essen community, and observe how service learning is practiced in Germany.
